Sometimes the best family holidays are the ones where you don't do very much at all.

Family life is busy.

Actually, busy probably doesn't even cover it.

Between school, work, sport, dance, appointments, birthday parties, washing, groceries, emails, lunches, the never ending calendar and somehow needing to remember that someone needs to take a gold coin to school tomorrow, our weeks can feel like one giant exercise in getting everyone where they need to be.

And somewhere amongst all of that, we are supposed to find time to actually enjoy each other.

As a mum, I feel this enormously.

And as a travel agent, it has made me appreciate that sometimes the most valuable holidays aren't necessarily the biggest, busiest or most adventurous ones.

Sometimes what a family really needs is simply time together.

Recently I booked two families into a four bedroom Platinum accommodation at Noosa North Shore.

When they came home, the feedback I received was simple:

“It was EXACTLY what we needed.”

And I knew immediately what they meant.

The kind of holiday where everyone can slow down

There is something pretty special about Noosa North Shore.

You have this beautiful, dreamy location surrounded by nature and coastline, but more importantly, you have space to just be.

There doesn't need to be a huge itinerary.

Nobody needs to be rushing out the door at 8am because you have three attractions booked before lunch.

The kids can play.

The adults can sit down.

Meals can stretch out a little longer.

You can head to the beach, explore when you feel like it, come back, relax and spend time together without constantly watching the clock.

And when our normal lives are so heavily scheduled, there is something incredibly valuable about that.

The accommodation matters too

I am quite particular about accommodation when recommending somewhere for families, especially when multiple families are travelling together.

Because there's a big difference between accommodation that technically sleeps eight people and somewhere eight people can actually enjoy staying together.

My clients chose a four bedroom Platinum option and the quality of the accommodation was a real standout.

There was room for two families to holiday together without feeling like they were living on top of one another, and the standard of the property made the accommodation itself part of the holiday.

That's important.

Because when you're booking this kind of getaway, you actually want to spend time there.

You want somewhere the kids can come back to after a big day outside, where the adults can relax and where everyone can settle in rather than feeling like you're simply using the accommodation as somewhere to sleep.

Family holidays don't always need to be complicated

I love travel.

I love planning big adventures, overseas holidays and itineraries packed with incredible experiences.

But I also think we sometimes underestimate the value of simply getting away from normal life for a few days.

Our kids aren't going to remember whether we cleared the washing basket before we left.

They're probably not going to remember how many emails were sitting unanswered in our inboxes either.

But they do remember staying up with their cousins or friends.

They remember beach days.

They remember everyone eating together.

They remember Mum and Dad actually sitting down instead of saying, “Hang on, I just need to do this first.”

And we remember it too.

Why Noosa North Shore is going on my recommendation list

For me, the best recommendations don't come from a brochure.

They come when I send clients somewhere and they return genuinely happy that they went.

Two families.

One beautiful four bedroom Platinum accommodation.

A dreamy location.

Time to slow down, reconnect and enjoy being together.

And the words:

“It was EXACTLY what we needed.”

Sometimes that's exactly what a holiday should be.

If your family has been running from one thing to the next lately, maybe you don't need a huge holiday either.

Maybe you just need somewhere beautiful to disappear to together for a few days.

Noosa North Shore is firmly on my Agent Recommendation list.
